Ten Bands One Cause Pink Vinyl for 2016
The 2016 set of releases for the Ten Bands One Cause project have been announced and are available for pre-order.
This is the third year for the program which releases ten records in a limited edition pink color. Proceeds go to Gilda's Club NYC, named for SNL comedian Gilda Radner. Last year, the group raised $65,000.
Most of these are out on September 23, 2016. A few others are a week or two after. Here are this year's releases:
- Courtney Barnett - Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit
- Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Getaway
- The Black Keys - Chulahoma
- NOFX - First Ditch Effort
- Ed Sheeran - X
- Jim Breuer and the Loud & Rowdy - Songs From the Garage
- My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
- Anthrax - For All Kings
- Opeth - Sorceress
- Pixies - Head Carrier
Some of these, like the Pixies and Opeth are piggie-backing on an existing pressing run, but in different packaging. For example, the Head Carrier is also getting released in a version with a bonus slipmat. If you've been thinking about getting some of these, this might be a good way to get an album you want and do a little good for someone else at the same time.
