One of Neubauten’s best and most memorable works. This album, back in the 90’s, was released on Trent Reznor’s then label, Nothing Records. In truth, I already have a copy of this CD. I’d just bought this one for the car. 5/5 ⭐️!!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2001'Ende Neu' is not one of the best Neubauten's works even if that doesn't mean it's bad of course, since this band has been making a good album after another for more than 20 years. When i first listened to this album I realised it sounded poorer than the previous cd, 'Tabula Rasa'; however, there're some marvellous songs and the rest are decent so I couldn't get disappointed. The first track, 'Was Ist Ist' is a very quick-tempo song which sounds rather spontaneous if not poorly made; the sound is not much elaborated, and Blixa sings as if he had no idea of what to say. 'Stella Maris' is a marvellous ballad with two voices, male and female; every time i hear it I fet imbued with an inefable sense of frailty; it's one of their less typical but nevertheless one of their best songs ever; the emotion is emanating from every single pore of this song. 'die explosion im festpielhaus' is a more typical neubauten song which could have appeared in almost every neubauten album; this implies that is a good song, especially the second part, sung by female chorus, which get my senses back to the atmosphere of Stella Maris. Blixa adds a new 'musical instrument': the pen. Then there comes 'Installation nº1', an almost instrumental song which is decent but sounds like a filler; 'NNNAAAMMM' is a 11 minute track, very electronic and with industrial rhythms which reminds me of Kraftwerk. It's another example of how minimalism and repetitiveness may not be necessarily boring. 'Ende Neu' is a typical Neubauten song but good anyway; the voice sounds quite low, well-mixed with the noise; 'The Garden' is another example of repetition: a unique sentence is repeated almost on every second of the song, till it reaches the climax with the strings and very little noise; I think it's one of the best neubauten songs ever (one of the 15 or 20 best anyway, which is something); the album ends with 'Der schaft von Babel', a brief piece with a very industrial beat; it's quite ok. The cd contains all the lyrics to the songs in german and English... some lyrics (especially 'Stella Maris') are simply good poetry. In my opinion, 'Ende Neu' is poorly made or at least more modest than the previous and the following albums, but it sounds good anyway. I suppose many other bands would die for making such a work anyway.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2015a favorite from a favorite, this is one of the best releases ever from industrial pioneers Nuebaten. A true standout in my collection. With no equal. Not even from Nuebaten themselves! grab your copy now!! /Alexavier
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2013The Einstürzende Neubauten had begun as an industrial post-punk band in the early 1980s, but quickly developed into an exceptionally unique art-rock band. From Fünf auf der nach oben offenen Richterskala onward, brutal noise increasingly yields to rhythmic percussion. Here, three albums later, there is still noise, but it now punctuates periods of silence and accents the increasing poetry of the lyrics. Unlike their earlier classics, the aforementioned Fünf auf der nach oben offenen Richterskala and Haus der Lüge, about half of the songs on this album are in English or are a mélange of English and German. This is one of their top albums and, as the title, End New, suggests, marks a turning point for the band that will define their new sound through their subsequent albums. Like all of their albums, Ende Neu is beautifully packaged in a digipak cover with a thick, glossy booklet containing all of the lyrics in German and in English, plus numerous notes and photos.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2000I am sure that fans are a blessing, but sometimes they can be the worst thing that can happen to an artist. Extreme fans can either blindly praise their worst efforts or dismiss any hint of progress or change in anyone's career just because it no longer fulfills their narrow expectations. EN opened a world of possibilities during the first 10 years of their career and some fell in love with Blixa's angry wails and the somber, tuneless assaults of "Drawings of the Patient O.T." . But the ones who paid more attention, knew that there was deeper thought and emotion into it, not just anger and rebellion. You can label them experimental, but not because they use random methods to make their music, but because there is the passion, the idea, the hope and the patience that it is required for the adventure of discovering something important. Of course EN music is not for everyone, not for mass consumption, not to listen while you are doing something else, not to party or go clubbing. EN (de)compose music that demands all your attention and your patience and at the end it always rewards. I disagree with the ones that consider that with Ende Neu our heroes sold out. Quite the opposite. It is just that they are more developed, the experiment is in a more accomplished stage. Listen to NNNAMMM for instance. There is pattern, there is a more structured rhythm but there is also a breathtaking harmonization of hundreds of machine sounds that sound like sheer sonic adventure. It is the gold they obtained from years of playing with alchemy and it is true to their premise that beauty can be found everywhere and anything can be an instrument and not just a tool. Sure it is not an angry, punk song, you can even dance to it, however it still sound dangerous and daring like nothing you have heard before. Listen to Stella Maris and Explosion in the Festival Hall (shame I don't speak German) and you will feel the teasing, the tension, the explosion. Pay attention to the wonderful lyrics, they are real poems even after they were translated to English, even if you just read them outside the context of the music. Take notice on how every song is different, how they are everything but predictable, how much they respect their audience by elaborating a different idea(s) on every song rather than making 10 renditions of the same tune as we are getting used to by most of the current rock bands. It has taken hard work and discipline, endless talent and inspiration for EN to keep going with such extreme ideas and bullet proof integrity, one can only hope they keep making brilliant records for a long time because they are one of the very few consistently thrilling music forces around.

5.0 out of 5 stars Immer noch NEU

5.0 out of 5 stars

1.0 out of 5 stars Värdelöst förpackad
Man betalar pengar för en dyr vinylskiva och den skickas i en papperspåse helt utan skydd... Hela hörnet av omslaget är förstört enligt bilderna. Själva vinylskivan klarade sig utan skador och är spelbar.
